Then you can get started!<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>MIX<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: Combine the flaxseed with water in a saucepan and heat until boiling, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 8-10 minutes. Keep stirring constantly, because trust us, you don&#8217;t want to have to scrape off any caked-on flaxseed from the bottom of your saucepan.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>BOIL<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: After a few minutes, a jelly-like substance will begin to form. This substance will reduce until it forms more of a gel. Stay with the pan and watch carefully, as flaxseed gel can fail if it&#8217;s not the right consistency. You want a gel that&#8217;s not too thin and runny, but also not too thick. If the gel gets too thick, you&#8217;ll end up with a white residue in your hair when it dries.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>POURING<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0: Once the water starts to boil, a layer of foam will appear on top. Reduce the heat. Then, take the glass jar and pull the pantyhose over the opening. Pour the contents of the jar into the jar, leaving the flaxseed on the pantyhose. The gel will last for about one to two weeks.
