Creme of Nature Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT
When I read the name, it doesn’t exactly sound very inviting. I think of “SNOT” more as… Exactly! That stuff that comes out of your nose when you have a cold. However, in this case, it means something else. SNOT gel refers to the super strong hair gel from Creme of Nature. This hair gel contains argan oil from Morocco. Argan oil is known for its frizz-fighting properties and beautiful shine. Because this gel is so strong, you won’t have to worry about frizzy baby hairs. Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT Gel is from the brand Creme of Nature. This brand stands for beautiful and healthy hair. Their products can be used on any hair type, so it doesn’t matter if you have wavy, curly, or kinky hair. Moreover, as the name suggests, these Creme of Nature products contain only natural ingredients.
How do you use the Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT?
The gel works no differently than other gels. The only difference is that this gel provides a very strong hold. This means you only need to use a small amount of product. Tip: Put a small amount of product in your hands and then add some water. This way, you dilute the gel and can distribute it evenly through your hair. As I said, the Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT gel works no differently than other gels. You apply it to wet or damp hair. Then, rub the product into your hair and dry it with a diffuser. Once your hair is dry, squeeze out the “cast.” Et voilá! Beautiful curls.
My hair routine
Before applying styling products, I first wash my hair with Curl Flo Revive Co-wash . Then I can start styling! If I notice my hair isn’t wet enough, I spritz it with a spray bottle to add a little more water. I divide my hair into two sections and apply some Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT gel (a small amount goes a long way) and Leave-In Weightless Moisture Conditioner to my hands. I mix this mixture and distribute it throughout both sections.

After applying the products and styling my hair, I dry it with a diffuser. Once my hair is completely dry, I squeeze the cast out with my hands. The result: shiny and defined curls.
My opinion about the SNOT gel
I absolutely love Creme of Nature’s Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT gel! I have 2c/3a curls. Because of this, I need a fairly light gel with good hold to keep my curls from falling out. The SNOT gel absolutely prevents this! My hair also frizzes easily. When I use this gel, my curls become beautifully shiny.
I do read in some communities that people find the gel a bit sticky and that it leaves residue in their hair. I don’t experience this myself. I do notice that when I touch my hair after styling my curls, my hands do get a bit sticky. I solve this by washing my hands.
Here are some other tips to ensure you use the gel correctly and prevent the above:
- Use a very small amount of the Maximum-Hold Styling SNOT gel and dilute it with some warm water
- Distribute the gel evenly over your hair
- Mix the product with another product such as a cream
- Only use the gel on soaking wet hair
